Suzuka 8 Hours

The Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race has been held annually since 1978. According to Wikipedia, it peaked in the 1980s when it attracted crowds of over 130,000. Teams consist of two or more riders, who change places at pit stops.

The last six winning teams have each included a British rider, with four different riders being involved. In 2016 and 2017 Alex Lowes (from Lincoln) was part of the winning Yamaha team.

Suzuka has also hosted a 100 km endurance race for sports cars. This was held for the last time in 2017. There was also a 300 km endurance race, also for sports cars, in 2010.
